Royal Enfield has officially resumed bookings and deliveries for the Scram 440 motorcycle across India. This move comes after a temporary halt in May 2025 due to a minor technical issue that impacted a small percentage of customers. With the issue now reportedly resolved, dealers have started accepting new bookings for the motorcycle once again.

Why Were Bookings Suspended?
In the first week of May 2025, Royal Enfield had quietly suspended bookings and deliveries of the Scram 440. The reason behind this pause was a technical fault in a small component, which caused the motorcycle to experience starting issues—particularly after extended periods of usage. However, this issue was not related to safety, and there were no cases of stalling or breakdowns reported on the road.
According to internal data, less than 2% of the units delivered up to that point showed symptoms of this issue. Customers who faced the problem were contacted by the company and asked to visit authorised service centres, where the faulty part was replaced free of cost. No mass recall was needed, and the issue seems to have been quickly addressed.

Bookings Resume with Variable Waiting Periods
Now that the issue is resolved, dealers across the country have resumed accepting bookings for the Scram 440. Depending on the location and variant, the waiting period can range from as little as 10 days to over a month. The availability also depends on the colour variant selected, with some colours facing higher demand.
Although there is no official announcement yet from Royal Enfield, the restart of bookings confirms that the brand is confident the technical snag has been fully fixed.

The Royal Enfield Scram 440 is a scrambler-style motorcycle based on the new 443cc platform. It is powered by an air/oil-cooled engine that produces 25.4 bhp at 6,250rpm and 34Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox, making it more highway-friendly than some of its older siblings.
The bike runs on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, with either alloy or spoke wheels depending on the chosen variant. Braking duties are managed by single disc brakes at both ends, paired with switchable dual-channel ABS.
Other highlights include a kerb weight of 196kg, a 15-litre fuel tank for long rides, and a comfortable 795mm seat height—making it accessible to a wide range of riders.
