New Year, New Paint: Aesthetic Updates for 2026
For 2026, Triumph has focused on enhancing the bike’s visual appeal. The Scrambler 1200 X now comes with a new Matt Khaki Green colour, giving it a rugged and military-inspired look. The updated design is further complemented by a redesigned headlight cowl, new side panels, and mudguards finished in a contrasting Dark Black theme. The overall appearance retains the scrambler essence while leaning more towards a purposeful, ready-for-anything vibe.
Underneath the skin, the Scrambler 1200 X remains mechanically identical to its predecessor and that’s not a bad thing. Powering the motorcycle is a 1,200cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that continues to deliver 89 bhp at 7,000 rpm and a meaty 110 Nm of torque at just 4,250 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and features a ride-by-wire throttle system for precise control and smooth acceleration.
The bike is built on a tubular steel frame with an aluminium swingarm. Suspension duties are handled by 45mm Marzocchi upside-down forks at the front and twin rear shocks with piggyback reservoirs at the back. Both ends offer 170mm of travel, giving the 1200 X respectable off-road potential, even though it’s slightly less hardcore than its more off-road-focused sibling, the Scrambler 1200 XE.
Practical Adventure Setup
The 2026 Scrambler 1200 X comes equipped with 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, wrapped in tubeless dual-purpose tyres sized 90/90-21 and 150/70 R17 respectively. Stopping power is provided by twin 310mm front discs with Nissin two-piston axial calipers and a 255mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper. Cornering ABS ensures added safety during aggressive or unpredictable braking.
India Launch on the Cards
Triumph has confirmed that the updated Scrambler 1200 X will make its way to India later this year. However, it’s expected to carry a slightly higher price tag than the outgoing model. Despite its excellent on-paper credentials and strong international fanbase, the Scrambler 1200 X has struggled to find a wide audience in India. It remains to be seen whether the new look can turn the tide for Triumph in this niche segment.
