Mahindra has officially introduced the XUV 3XO in the Australian market, marking its fourth vehicle offering in the region after the S11 4X4 Pikup, Scorpio, and XUV700. This move underlines Mahindra’s ambition to expand its footprint in international markets, especially in the compact SUV segment.
Positioned for Success in a Competitive Segment
The XUV 3XO is Mahindra’s sub-4-meter SUV that will compete in Australia with other compact SUVs such as the Chery Tiggo 4, Mazda CX-3, MG ZS, Kia Stonic, and Hyundai Venue. It is offered in two variants: AX5L and AX7L, with a starting drive-away price of AUD 23,490 (approximately ₹13.18 lakh) for the AX5L. This aggressive pricing puts it among the most affordable options in its segment in Australia.
For comparison, the Chery Tiggo 4 Urban variant starts at AUD 23,990, while the MG ZS begins at AUD 25,990. The Kia Stonic and Hyundai Venue command even higher prices at AUD 28,290 and AUD 27,990 respectively.
Stylish Looks and Practical Features
On the outside, the XUV 3XO retains its Indian design, featuring bold C-shaped LED DRLs, a wide front grille, and Infinity LED tail lamps. The AX5L gets 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, while the AX7L comes equipped with larger 17-inch units.
The AX5L is available in Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Stealth Black, and Tango Red. The AX7L shares these except for Stealth Black, replacing it with an exclusive Citrine Yellow shade.
Inside, both variants come with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster of the same size, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, leather-wrapped steering and gear knob, and foldable ORVMs.
