BMW Sales in 2025: BMW Group India has reported its highest-ever half-yearly performance in the first six months of 2025, highlighting the brand’s growing influence in India’s luxury automotive sector. From January to June 2025, BMW and MINI collectively sold 7,774 cars, while BMW Motorrad delivered 2,569 motorcycles. Despite a volatile economic environment, the Group achieved an impressive 10% year-on-year growth.

BMW has maintained its leadership in the luxury electric vehicle segment for the third year in a row. A total of 1,322 EVs from the BMW and MINI stables were sold in H1 2025, accounting for 18% of total car sales. The BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase emerged as the best-selling EV, followed by the top-end BMW i7.
To complement rising EV adoption, BMW expanded its support ecosystem with initiatives like BMW Destination Charging, Smart E-Routing, Charging Concierge, and complimentary Wallbox installations. With six electric cars and two electric scooters in its India lineup, BMW is steadily transforming premium electric mobility in the country.
BMW’s long wheelbase vehicles saw a spectacular 159% increase in sales during H1 2025. These include popular models like the 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series, and the iX1. Long wheelbase variants now make up 47% of the Group’s total car sales in India. The 5 Series emerged as the best-selling sedan, while the 3 Series continued to dominate the premium sedan space.
Luxury Class and SAVs Drive Premium Appeal
The BMW Luxury Class—which features the 7 Series, i7, X7, and XM—continues to be a major draw for Indian luxury buyers. The BMW X7 has now surpassed 5,000 units in cumulative sales. Meanwhile, BMW’s Sports Activity Vehicles registered a 17% growth in H1 2025. Their contribution rose from 56% in Q1 to 59% in Q2, with the BMW X1 alone accounting for more than 30% of total sales in the SAV category.
Performance from MINI and BMW Motorrad
MINI India sold 297 units in H1 2025. The MINI Cooper S led the lineup with a 60% year-on-year growth. The Countryman E maintained a consistent performance with near-equal sales contribution.
On the two-wheeler front, BMW Motorrad sold 2,569 motorcycles in H1 2025. The G 310 RR continued to dominate the entry-level segment, while the 900 GS / GSA and 1300 GS / GSA led in adventure touring. The S 1000 RR held its ground as the go-to super sport motorcycle.
Customer-Centric Innovation and Financing
BMW Group India further enhanced customer engagement with the rollout of Retail.NEXT, a modern retail format that combines digital tools, luxury, and personalised services. The company is investing ₹365.6 crore to upgrade 56 facilities across 33 cities.
BMW Smart Finance also played a significant role in driving sales by offering flexible payment options, low EMIs, assured buyback, and easy upgrades—making luxury ownership more accessible than ever.
