Bajaj Auto is back in the headlines as it gears up to unveil updated versions of its popular Dominar 250 and Dominar 400 motorcycles. The brand recently dropped an official teaser across its social media channels, confirming that the next-generation Dominars are just around the corner.
While the teaser keeps things minimal, it does hint at some notable updates – starting with the bikes’ new instrument cluster. This isn’t a complete surprise, though, as the updated Dominar 400 was recently spotted at a dealership, giving us a sneak peek into what’s coming.
Modern LCD Display Replaces Fuel Tank-Mounted Console
One of the most noticeable changes in the upcoming Dominar 400 is its all-new LCD display. This setup looks similar to the unit seen on the newly launched Pulsar NS400Z. The new cluster brings a more modern and rider-friendly experience, allowing access to a range of features and riding data.
In line with the digital upgrade, Bajaj has also redesigned the switchgear. New buttons have been introduced on the handlebar to help riders navigate menus, adjust settings, and take full control of the features on the new display. With this change, Bajaj has also removed the secondary LCD panel that was previously mounted on the fuel tank of the Dominar models – a feature that was unique but not the most user-friendly.
Although no mechanical changes have been confirmed yet, the Dominar twins are expected to retain their existing powertrains. The Dominar 250 currently uses a 248.8cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, while the Dominar 400 is powered by a 373.3cc unit derived from KTM’s engine family. Both bikes are known for their strong touring ability, decent performance, and relaxed ergonomics.
That said, with the upcoming updates, Bajaj is likely aiming to improve the ownership experience, enhance digital functionality, and possibly even introduce new paint schemes to keep things fresh.
Will This Update Boost Sales?
The Dominar brand, particularly the Dominar 400, enjoys a loyal fan base in certain parts of India. Its muscular design, strong road presence, and comfort-focused setup have earned it praise over the years. However, despite all this, the sales numbers have remained relatively modest and never really hit Bajaj’s expectations.
By introducing a new digital instrument cluster and refining the overall user experience, Bajaj seems to be targeting riders who want a more connected and modern machine – without compromising on performance.
Stay tuned as the official launch of the new Dominar 250 and 400 is expected in the coming weeks. We’ll bring you all the details once they’re revealed!
