Vietnamese carmaker VinFast is getting ready to make a big splash in the Indian EV scene. After showcasing the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the brand has now started dispatching these cars to dealerships across India. While the official launch is expected during the festive season, sightings at dealer stockyards confirm that the EVs are already here!

VinFast VF6: A Stylish, Compact Electric SUV
The VF6 is a compact electric SUV aimed at young urban buyers who want something practical yet stylish. From the outside, the VF6 grabs attention with its clean design and full-width LED DRLs. The front houses the main headlights lower on the bumper for a more modern look, while the rear gets wraparound LED tail lights.
A dual-tone dark brown and black interior greets you inside, with soft-touch materials and a straightforward layout. This two-row SUV seats five and comes loaded with features like a 12.9-inch touchscreen, ventilated and heated front seats, and even a heads-up display in place of a digital instrument cluster.
Globally, the VF6 gets a 59.6 kWh battery with two variants: Eco (177 PS, 250 Nm) and Plus (204 PS, 310 Nm). The claimed ranges are 410 km and 379 km respectively, and these specs are expected to carry over to the Indian version as well. Safety features could include Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, and multiple airbags.

VinFast VF7: Futuristic, Powerful, and Feature-Packed
Positioned above the VF6, the VF7 is a mid-size electric SUV with bolder styling and more power. Recently spotted testing in India, it features wraparound LED tail lights, a wide honeycomb grille, and flush door handles. The cabin is more premium, with dual-tone leatherette upholstery, a driver-angled 12.9-inch touchscreen, and a sporty 3-spoke steering wheel.
The VF7 will be available in two trims — Plus FWD and Plus AWD. Both get a 70.8 kWh battery, but power output differs significantly:
- Plus FWD: 201 PS, 310 Nm, 0-100 kmph in 9.5 sec
- Plus AWD: 354 PS, 520 Nm, 0-100 kmph in 5.8 sec
Other highlights include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, and a full suite of ADAS features. The range figures for India are yet to be announced, but expect it to be competitive.
What About the VinFast VF3?
VinFast has also announced the VF3 — a compact 3-door EV that’s expected to debut in India next year. With a boxy design and focus on affordability, it comes with a 41 PS motor and 18.64 kWh battery for a claimed 215 km range. It’s super minimalistic, featuring four seats, a 10-inch touchscreen, manual AC, and basic comforts.
The VF3 is expected to be priced from around ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival the MG Comet, Tata Tiago EV, and Citroen eC3.
